1. If They’re Rude…LEAVE the store
Too many times, the African American community’s insecurities are capitalized on without any respect for the Black dollar. We all know that many people of color purchase weave . I suggest only buying products from a place that respects your buying power!
2. Ask Them to Take the Hair Out of the Package.
You need to feel how the hair flows through your fingers. Can you easily run your fingers from root to tip? Does it tangle when you shake it? If the hair doesn’t flow theres a chance the cuticles are running in different directions, thus limiting the shelf life of the hair extensions. You’ll probably get a good 2.5 weeks out of it at most. Also, if it tangles just from shaking it, you can only imagine what it going to do on the back of your head.
3. Find Natural Light to View the Hair
Hair stores have horrible lighting. The fluorescent lighting makes the hair look a different color when it would seem in the sunlight. I suggest holding the hair up to a window or somewhere that you can see the hair exactly how it is. Hair stores seldom have a return policy so check everything before buying.
